Layla Mehdi Pour is a young designer, Iranian by birth and Italian by adoption, who loves to create design objects in the name of fun, color and extreme adaptability. In fact, her work is based on the reinterpretation of everyday objects through a playful and refined look, transforming them into innovative, fresh pieces enriched by a delicately feminine touch. An example is Sophie, a collection of plexiglass wall clocks composed of two superimposed surfaces with 12 lines each. The lower dial is fixed to the clock mechanism but the upper one can be rotated at will, giving life to different shapes, in a play of colors, lights and shadows. Thanks to its modest dimensions (35 × 28 cm) and the wide range of colors in which it is available, it can be easily inserted into existing furnishings. Furthermore, the choice of the name is not accidental. The explicit reference is to the protagonist of the cartoon Howl's Moving Castle who was able to transform his appearance according to her feelings. This brings to mind the changes of time, how it is never replicable and always different. Often the perception we have of the passage of time is subjective and changes with the variation of our feelings. Among the pieces designed and created by Layla there are also Pardis, the modular vase to hang on the wall; Dan, the oil and vinegar holder and the FëlFël ceramic rings for salt and pepper. Where to find them? The entire collection of Layla Mehdi Pour design products awaits you on the online shop of TID-The Interior Design. Hurry up!
